Who we are
Trinket Trove (trinkettrove.shop) is a curated wellness shop and the home of The Trove, a free monthly magazine, edited by Gillian Parkinson F. We are based in the United States. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Trinket Trove and The Trove. Questions about your information go to hello@trinkettrove.shop.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe through our sign-up form, we collect your first name and email address. The form is provided by LeadConnector (HighLevel), the email and contact-management service we use. Along with what you type, the form service may record technical details of the sign-up, such as the date and time, the page you signed up from, and your IP address, which helps show that you asked to subscribe. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
Information collected automatically. When you read the site, Google Analytics collects usage information through cookies: pages viewed, time on page, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or social media), approximate location (city or country level), and device and browser type. We also record which links are clicked, including links to other sites and affiliate links, together with the page the click came from. We use this to learn what readers find useful. It does not tell us who you are.
What we do not collect. We do not sell products directly on this site, so we do not take or see your payment details. Purchases happen on the retailer’s own website, under that retailer’s privacy policy.
Email and your subscription
- Double opt-in. After you sign up, we send a confirmation email. You are subscribed only after you click to confirm.
- What we send. The Trove (about once a month), a welcome email and the free resources we offered when you signed up, and occasional notes about new articles, recommendations or offers related to what you subscribed for.
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from future marketing email. You can also write to hello@trinkettrove.shop.
- CAN-SPAM. We follow the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act: our emails identify who they are from, use honest subject lines, include a working unsubscribe link, and honor unsubscribe requests promptly.
- We do not sell your email address, and we do not rent or trade our list.
Analytics and cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We use:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-DHW5506DJ3). It sets first-party cookies (named
_gaand_ga_…) to tell visits apart and to measure how the site is used. Google processes this data on our behalf; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. - The sign-up form. Our form is loaded from LeadConnector (HighLevel), which may set its own cookies to make the form work and to record your sign-up.
- Fonts. The site’s typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers when a page opens.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work; we will simply see less about how it is used.
Affiliate links and their cookies
Some links on Trinket Trove and in The Trove are affiliate or referral links. They are labelled. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Our current programs include Topture, HigherDOSE (through the Awin affiliate network) and a Sunlighten referral program; this list changes as we add or end partnerships.
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or the affiliate network (such as Awin) may set a cookie or use a tracking link so that the sale can be credited to us. That cookie belongs to them and is governed by their privacy policy. We receive reports of clicks and commissions; we do not receive your name, address or payment details from these programs. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run the site and the magazine, and only so they can do that job:
- LeadConnector (HighLevel): sign-up forms, email delivery and our subscriber list.
- Google: website analytics (Google Analytics) and fonts.
- Hostinger: website hosting. Like most hosts, its servers keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to the information transferred. We do not sell your email address.
How long we keep it
- Subscriber information is kept while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we never email you again by mistake. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, except where we must keep a record to honor your request or to meet a legal obligation.
- Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention setting, which is no longer than 14 months for detailed data; reports show only totals.
- Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a sensible record of our correspondence.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to hello@trinkettrove.shop from the email address you subscribed with, and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including several U.S. states such as California, you may have additional rights under local law; we will honor them. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Children
Trinket Trove and The Trove are written for adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security, and where data is stored
We use reputable service providers and keep access to subscriber information limited to the people who run Trinket Trove. No method of storing or sending data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our service providers store data in the United States. If you read from outside the U.S., your information will be processed there.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the way the site works changes, for example when we add a new service or partner. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page and, where appropriate, in The Trove before it takes effect.
